The Christian Association of Nigeria has directed church leaders across the state to ensure that eligible members obtain their Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs) and actively participate in the democratic process.
In an official statement signed by the State Chairman, Rev. Dr. Joel Danjuma Manzo, the association called on Bloc Leaders, Bishops, Denominational Heads, Pastors, and leaders of Christian organizations to encourage members under their supervision to register with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) if they have not yet obtained their PVCs.
The association further advised eligible members to register with political parties of their choice freely and voluntarily, stressing that such decisions must be made without coercion, restriction, or preference for any particular party.
According to the statement, members are encouraged to lawfully engage in civic responsibilities by fulfilling all statutory requirements necessary to vote and, where applicable, to contest elective offices.
CAN reiterated its commitment to fairness, credibility, and righteousness in electoral and civic matters, emphasizing that the Church remains a moral voice for justice, accountability, and the promotion of democratic values in society.
The association urged all concerned to comply with the directive as part of efforts to strengthen democratic participation in the state.
