With the commencement of the second round of the Nigeria National League set for this weekend across various venues in the country, Adamawa United FC’s training session was disrupted by officials of Yobe Desert Stars yesterday in Damaturu.
The match between Yobe Desert Stars and Adamawa United is scheduled for today, at August 27 Stadium, Damaturu, at 3:00 p.m.
Trouble started when players and officials of Adamawa United FC went for a light warming-up training at the stadium, which is the normal procedure for any away team to feel the pitch before any match.
Midway into the section, one of the officials of the host team Yobe Desert Stars, who is the curator of the team, alongside some other officials whose officers in the club could not be verified at the time of this report, harassed and chased the players and officials of Adamawa United FC out.
This scuffle led to the Technical Advisor of Adamawa United FC, Coach Festus Mure’alewe, sustaining a deep cut on his toe despite wearing a training canvas.
Meanwhile, reports from the camp of Yobe Desert Stars were that in the last match of the first round played in Yola, Yobe Desert Stars and officials were denied entry into the Makawada Stadium where the match was played.
That match ended two to one in favour of host Adamawa United FC.
