The Adamawa State Universal Basic Education Board (ADSUBEB), Yola, under the leadership of its Executive Chairman, Dr. Murtala Umar Babayi, has established a monitoring committee to ensure that construction projects funded under the 2022, 2023, and 2024 UBEC/SUBEB Matching Grants are executed in line with approved specifications and standards.

The committee is tasked with supervising ongoing projects across the state to guarantee quality delivery, adherence to timelines, and proper utilization of matching grant funds, with the overall objective of improving teaching and learning infrastructure in public basic schools.

As part of the exercise, the Board’s Permanent Member II, Dr. Aliyu Sa’ad, inspected project sites in Fufore Local Government Area. The schools visited included Government Day Secondary School (GDSS) Muniga, Hirnage Primary School, and Wuro Ardo Mararaban Chugari Primary School.

The visit focused on assessing the level of work completed, verifying compliance with approved construction standards, and ensuring that contractors strictly adhere to project specifications.

During the inspection, Dr. Aliyu also paid a sympathy visit to the Head Teacher of Hirnage Primary School at his residence following an accident that resulted in a fracture to his left hand. He prayed for his quick recovery and commended his dedication and service to the education sector.

Dr. Aliyu reiterated that consistent monitoring remains a key strategy of the Board to ensure durability, accountability, and timely completion of projects, thereby enhancing the quality of learning environments in public basic schools across Adamawa State.
