The Adamawa State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to improving infrastructure in public schools through sustained construction and renovation of classroom blocks and other educational facilities aimed at creating a more conducive learning environment for pupils and teachers.
In line with this objective, the Adamawa State Universal Basic Education Board (ADSUBEB), under the leadership of its Executive Chairman, Dr. Murtala Umar Babayi, has established a monitoring committee to ensure that projects funded under the 2022, 2023, and 2024 UBEC/SUBEB Matching Grants are executed in accordance with approved specifications and standards.
The committee is mandated to supervise ongoing projects across the state to guarantee quality delivery, strict adherence to timelines, and proper utilization of intervention funds.
As part of the monitoring exercise, the Board’s Permanent Member II, Dr. Aliyu Sa’ad, inspected several project sites in Song Local Government Area.
The schools visited include Dumne Primary School, Koti Tanda Primary School, Dolom Primary School, Government Day Junior Secondary School (GDJSS) Ditera, Baka Primary School, Wuro Heso Primary School, Gudure Primary School, and Tsangayan Malam Salihu Usman.
The inspection focused on evaluating the level of work completed, verifying compliance with approved construction standards, and ensuring that contractors strictly adhere to project specifications.
Dr. Aliyu Sa’ad emphasized that consistent monitoring remains a key strategy of the Board to ensure durability, accountability, and timely completion of projects, thereby improving the quality of learning environments in public basic schools across Adamawa State.
