Her Excellency, Hajiya Dr. Lami Ahmadu Fintiri, has donated mattresses and food items to the Special Education Centre in Jada, Adamawa State, in fulfilment of a promise she made to the school during an earlier visit.

The donation followed her visit to the centre on June 3, 2025, when the school management and students appealed for mattresses to improve the welfare and comfort of learners with special needs. Hajiya Lami, who listened to the request, assured the school of her support and has now honoured that commitment.

The items, presented through her pet project, the Fresh Air Pro-Life Empowerment Foundation, included mattresses, bags of rice, bags of beans and blankets.

The gesture forms part of the foundation’s ongoing humanitarian interventions aimed at supporting vulnerable groups, particularly children living with disabilities.

Presenting the items on her behalf, Mr. Ishaya Bitrus explained that the First Lady had wished to personally make the donation but was unavoidably absent due to official engagements.

He conveyed her goodwill to the students and staff, reaffirming her love for the children and her commitment to supporting the school.

The Principals of the Senior, Junior, and Primary sections of the centre, Mr. Godwin Ularamu, Mr. John S. Bobboi, and Mallam Aliyu Usman, expressed profound appreciation for the gesture, describing it as rare and commendable.

They noted that many promises are often made to public institutions without follow-through, adding that the fulfilment of this promise was both surprising and deeply encouraging.

Members of the school community also expressed gratitude. A corps member, Adamu Vivian, the Head Boy, Abubakar Aminu, and a visually impaired student, Mr. Sober Tumba, all praised Hajiya Lami for her compassion, describing her as a caring mother whose concern for the vulnerable is evident in her actions.

Prayers were offered for Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri and his administration, with participants praying for divine guidance and strength as he continues to steer the affairs of the state.
