Adamawa Dep Gov Farauta Mourns, as Perm Sec Mercy Laid to Rest in Numan

Adamawa State Deputy Governor Professor Kaletapwa George Farauta has attended the funeral prayer of late Mrs Mercy Kennedy Dauda, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Adamawa State.

Adamawa State Deputy Governor Professor Kaletapwa George Farauta has attended the funeral prayer of late Mrs Mercy Kennedy Dauda, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Adamawa State.

The funeral service held on Tuesday at the LCCN Cathedral Numan was attended by government top functionaries, the deceased colleague’s family from various Ministries, Departments, Agencies MDAs), sympathizers, and other dignitaries within and outside the state.

The deputy governor, in her condolences messages on behalf of the government and the people of the state consoled the bereaved families and the government over the death of the late permanent secretary who died at the age of 59.

He described her death as colossal, considering her commitment and contributions to the community and public service.

She prayed to God to comfort the family and grant the deceased eternal rest.

Farauta who eulogized past pedigrees and legacies described the deceased as a pillar government, the church, and her immediate family has lost

The preacher who is the Chaplain, Government House Chapel, Yola, Rev Habila Yunusa, reiterated that death awaits every mortal.

He admonished the faithful to reflect and mend their ways, for no one knows the day or the hour of his or her death.

Mr Kwaji Drambi, in his goodwill message on behalf of the local government service commission said the deceased has supported her husband in turning around the commission.

Mr Louis Mandama, former Head of Service, speaking on behalf of the MNIs, Adamawa branch, asked the Chief mourner to accept their condolences on behalf of the National body.

Also, the MAYA forum, Alumni of Government Secondary School Michika, Association of Retired Permanent Secretaries, NULGE, Board and Commissioners, Gongola People’s Forum, and members of Pene de Bwatiye wished the deceased eternal life.

The deceased husband Kennedy Dauda is the current Chairman of the Local Government Service Commission,

The deceased is survived by her husband and two Children

Until her death, the deceased was the Secretary of State Boundary Commission
