Bauchi Islamic scholars from different sects have dismissed allegations linking the Bauchi State Government to terrorism and banditry, describing the claims as false, misleading and capable of undermining the peace of the state.
They made their position known in a press conference delivered by Imam Muhammad Yusuf Adam on behalf of the Islamic scholars from different sects in Bauchi State, insisting that Bauchi remains one of the most peaceful states in Northern Nigeria.
They said no town or forest in the state serves as a hideout for bandits or terrorist groups, adding that no individual has ever been arrested in Bauchi with weapons or food supplies meant for bandits.

The Islamic leaders noted that the Bauchi State Government responds promptly to security threats, citing Governor Bala Mohammed’s support to security agencies and vigilante groups, as well as swift action during past bandit incidents.
They also rejected claims that the governor or any government official has any connection with banditry, describing allegations against the Commissioner of Finance and five other officials as baseless and unjust.

The scholars clarified that individuals recently linked to the allegations, including Bello Badejo, were only involved in cooperation on security matters and not in any criminal activities.
They urged the public to avoid spreading false information, warned politicians against exploiting security issues for political rivalry, and called for continued prayers and collective efforts to sustain peace in Bauchi State.
