Mrs Christiana Binga, Chairperson of the Taraba State Universal Education Board (TSUBEB), on Monday embarked on an unscheduled visit to schools to inspect the resumption of schools for the third term.

Our Correspondent recalls that schools closed in for the second term and resumed on the 28th of April 2025.

The chairmanship and her monitoring team commenced the visit with some schools in Jalingo, the state capital.

Binga advised teachers to put in their best to ensure that the free education policy of Governor Agbu Kefa’s administration was achieved.

She said that the contributions from all stakeholders in the industry were required to succeed in the policy.

She forced teachers who were not regular in schools to change or faced stringent sanctions for being saboteurs to the free education policy of the administration.

The TSUBEB chairperson also encouraged the teachers to be abreast with modern teaching skills as well as regular planning of lesson plans.

She assured them of improved welfare as well as other motivations for the teachers, including promotion.

Mrs Christiana Taninga Binga said she would continue to visit schools to inspect and ensure that the schools are functioning well in line with the vision of Governor Kefas’s administration.

” I encourage you to get prepared with lesson plans daily.
“I want to warn those teachers who have the habit of truancy to desist.

“Let’s sound it clear to you that any absentee staff is opposed to the free education policy of the number one citizen of the state.

“If you know the implications of such acts, then you must guide your conduct. I want you to take these pupils as your children; if you relegate them, someone will relegate your child too.

“I, therefore, urge you to take these children as your children,” Mrs Bingan emphasized.

Some of the schools visited include Salihu Dogo Government Primary and Wuro Mashi Primary School Mayo-Gwai Jalingo, among others.

The chairperson was accompanied by Permanent Board members II and III Hon. Zakariya John and Hon. Aminu Jika, as well as some Directors of the Board.
