The residents of Taraba state on Saturday decried what they described as zero infrastructural progress after two years of Governor Agbu Kefas’ administration.
They said Governor Kefas has failed to create a positive impact that could have changed the infrastructural state of Taraba within the first two years of his administration.
According to them, capital development in the state has remained static since Governor Darius Ishaku left office.
Residents who spoke  include, Dr Kefas Nyajo, Andrew Ada, Ambita Ezra, Musa John Adi and Titus Habu Kona,
all explained that, even as general development continues to suffer an undefined setback in Taraba, infrastructure has remained static since Governor Darius Ishaku left office.
“It’s unfortunate, we have found ourselves in an era of failed promises. Under Governor Agbu Kefas, all we have achieved so far is failed promises. Imagine, after two years, governor Kefas has no single progressive project to point at.
“The governor had promised to attract so much development but so far, we are witnessing the worst government ever in the history of Taraba state. Unlike other successive administrations in Taraba, Kefas has not executed any project within two years of his government. The governor has promised and borrowed much money to transform Taraba but we have not seen any positive impact.
“We celebrated when the Minister of Finance, Mr Wale Edun, on behalf of Taraba, Benue, Edo, Anambra, Borno and Cross River states, signed a 30-year agreement loan of 150 million euros, with the European Investment Bank to construct 500-kilometer roads each in the six states.
“This money was sent to the benefiting states in June 2024, and the six states got €25 million each, to strictly construct rural roads. However, here in Taraba, not even half a kilometre of road has been constructed.
“This is the worst government we have seen since Taraba state was created. We wish to apologise to then-governor Darius Ishaku for criticising him over his poor performances. We never knew we were going to have the worst situation under Kefas.
“We wish to state here that the invitation of President Bola Tinubu to Taraba is an exposition of Governor Kefas’ failure. We have never seen a failure of this kind since 1999.
“Due to the poor performance of governor Agbu Kefas, Taraba has been placed among the top on the list of poverty index states in Nigeria.
“We wish to also state here that Taraba state needs prayers. We call on all citizens to commence prayers and fasting to liberate Taraba from the mess and abysmal performance of Governor Kefas’s administration”. The residents decried.
