Niger State Governor, Muhammad Umar Bago says some of his dissolved cabinet members would be reappointed as Commissioners, while some will be replaced.

The Governor made this known to journalists in Minna, the State capital, on Monday 1st September 2025, shortly after the announcement of the dissolution of his cabinet.

He said that he decided to decide because he was the person who appointed them, pointing out that the government is too wide to accommodate many, not necessarily the position of a Commissioner.

“From a Commissioner or Special Adviser, you can turn to a Permanent Secretary, likewise vice versa. This is the midterm of our performance. We want to put the right people in the position to enable us to achieve what we have set for Niger State.” Governor Bago explained.

The Governor revealed that each of the Commissioners has KVI and their performance will be reviewed, which will determine whether they will be reappointed or assigned to a different portfolio.

Governor Muhammad Umar Bago appreciated them for their contributions, which he said, so far, so good, his administration has recorded tremendous successes in various sectors.
