In a significant development, Yola-North People’s Democratic Party, PDP, stakeholders Sunday gathered for a crucial meeting, where they warmly welcomed two prominent figures from the All Progressives Congress, APC, into their fold.

The meeting, led by Adamawa State Commissioner of Local Government Affairs, Hon. Ibrahim Mijinyawa Yayaji, marked a major shift in the state’s political landscape.

The defectors, Hon Salihu Baba Ahmed, Director-General of the Media Campaign Council for Senator Binani in the 2023 general election, and Hon Hassan Turaki, former Speaker of the Adamawa State House of Assembly, bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the PDP.

Political analysts in Yola, see their decision to join the party as a major boost to the PDP’s chances in the state.

The meeting, which was held in a cordial atmosphere, was attended by top PDP stakeholders in Yola-North.

In his remarks, Hon. Mijinyawa Yayaji welcomed the defectors with open arms, and hailed their decision to join the party was hailed as a significant milestone.

“With their addition, the PDP is poised to become an even more formidable force in Adamawa State politics,” said Yayaji.

He added that the PDP has been gaining momentum in the state, and this latest development is expected to further strengthen its position.
