Yola-North Community Leaders Commend NEDC for Solar Street Light Installation

Leaders of Jambutu and Malamre communities in Yola-North LGA of Adamawa State have expressed profound appreciation to the North East Development Commission (NEDC) for the recent installation of 100 solar street lights.

The delegations of the two communities were led by Sanusi Aliyu Muhammad, Mai Jimilla Jambutu, and Danladi Usman Mai Jimilla Malamre, to the office of the NEDC in Yola, Tuesday.

The leaders commended the commission for a job well done, noting that the initiative has significantly reduced phone snatching and other theft-related incidents in the area.

During a brief ceremony, the community leaders observed that the improved lighting has not only enhanced security but also fostered a sense of safety among residents, enabling them to go about their daily activities without fear.

“The transformation brought by these solar street lights is evident,” Aliyu Muhammad stated. “We are grateful for the NEDC’s commitment to improving the quality of life in our community,” they said.

Barr. Khalifa M. Lawan, the State Coordinator of the NEDC, expressed appreciation for the community’s recognition. “Your gratitude motivates us to continue our efforts,” Lawan said.

He also thanked the MD/CEO of the Commission, Mohammad G. Alkali, for his visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to transforming communities across the North East.

Lawan reassured residents of the Commission’s continued dedication to bringing more development to the region.

In a related development, the management of Adamawa State Television (ATV) and the leadership of the Nigerian Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Adamawa State Chapter, paid a familiarization visit to the NEDC office.

During the visit, ATV General Manager Charity Kande Garba and the NAWOJ State Chairperson commended the Commission for its impactful developmental projects in the state.

Both the media representatives and women journalists expressed optimism about collaborating with the NEDC to promote awareness and disseminate information on the Commission’s key developmental initiatives in Adamawa.
