Succour has come to the victims of Adamawa flooding as Chief Caleb Andrew Myebangara JP FCA (Shettiman Batta) has made a cash donations and presentation of food items worth over Ten million naira to the victims on Wednesday.

Chief Andrew, in the company of his high-powered Team, handed over the various food items, including Bags of rice, Indomie noodles, and Spaghetti, to Ward heads of the communities for onward distribution to cushion the hardship being faced by the displaced families.

Though emotional but the humanitarian gesture goes beyond party , religious and tribal lines considering the prevailing situation on the camp couple with economic hardship.

Chief Caleb gesture to the victims was the one among many, because it goes beyond ordinary sympathy message.

He extended his heartfelt sympathy to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri CON,HRH Dr.Barkindo Aliyu Mustapha CFR and indeed the good people of Adamawa state over the unfortunate incident and prayed Almighty God to forgive the departed Souls.

The donation of cash and food items really put smiles on the faces of the displaced families camped in a Primary School.

In the wake of Saturday to Sunday morning on 27th July 2025, a devastating flooding overflowed Shagari phase 11, Sabon-pegi Tashan-Sani and Yolde-Pate as well as Lakare in Yola town, drowning about 23 persons.

Many houses were submerged while buildings collapsed, domestic animals were also drowned.

The waters flooded with reptiles like snakes biting other human beings to death.

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri CON in a quick response on Monday visited the affected communities and consoled with the victims. He however warned against building structures on waterways.

The Governor being irked by the speculations on Wednesday also paid an on the spot assessment visit to the ongoing construction of a Dam at Kofsopah District in Fufore local government area which was fingered by many to have caused the devastation.

A thorough technical assessment attributed majorly, the cause of the flooding to human encroachment.
