As the Muslim Ummah converge in Bauchi to celebrate the 2025 Maulud Nabiy, a non-governmental organisation, Wunti Unity Forum, has carried out a fumigation exercise within Wunti community and its environs.
The exercise was aimed at curbing malaria transmission and preventing other communicable diseases during the celebration of the birth of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
Speaking during the exercise, the Chairman of Wunti Unity Forum, Murtala Danjuma Wunti, said the association considered it necessary to contribute its quota toward ensuring a disease-free society.
He urged residents of the community to desist from indiscriminate dumping of refuse in waterways to prevent flooding and possible outbreaks of diseases.
Murtala Danjuma further called on the people of Bauchi State to support the association in its efforts to uplift the state to greater heights.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the Central Working Committee of the Forum, Alhaji Zayyanu Musa Wunti, said the association’s primary objective is to foster unity and harmony among citizens.
He expressed hope that in the near future, the Forum would become a beacon of unity for the people of Bauchi State and beyond.
