Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri said in the next two weeks, the government will commence work on connection of Maiha Gari in Maiha Local Government Area to the national grid.
The Governor revealed this when he led the campaign train of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to Maiha Gari to canvassing support for his re-election and votes for other candidates of the party.
Governor Fintiri announced that before the year runs out he will commission the new campus of Adamawa State University, (ADSU) at Mayo Guli in Maiha local government area.
“Today under our watch education is free, we pay for our children WAEC and NECO. 80% of our students got excellent results. We give scholarships and employed quality teachers into our schools,” he said.
The Governor reassured the commitment of his administration to eradicating poverty and hunger in the state through empowering youths and women in various skills.
“Health sector under my administration has received utmost priority. We built 150 primary healthcare centres and 8 new cottage hospitals with staff quarters,” said Fintiri.
The State Chairman of PDP, Barrister Tahir Shehu recalled how people of Maiha contributed significantly in the formation of PDP, saying with their support, the party will win the forthcoming elections.
Alhaji Nasiru Adamu who was one of the hundreds of defectors into the PDP among other various Speakers at the rally described Governor Fintiri’s style of leadership as unique.
They vowed to go into the nooks and crannies of Maiha to canvass votes for the re-election of Governor Fintiri and support for all other PDP candidates in the February and March elections.
Governor Umaru Fintiri after the rally, accompanied by some top Government officials and party chieftains has commissioned the renovated palace of the District Head of Maiha Gari.
