The team of Special Appearance Bikers scheduled to participate in the Nwonyo International Fishing Festival held in Nwonyo village, Ibi LGA, Taraba State, expressed their disappointment over their inability to attend.
In a press release issued by the Taraba State Commissioner of Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Joseph Joshua, the team leader of the Bikers, Leo, conveyed their reason for not attending through a message, citing an accident involving one of their colleagues, Charlee Nathan, on their way to the festival.
Leo’s message stated “My name is Leo, the team leader of the Bikers scheduled to participate in the Nwonyo fishing festival.
“During our journey to the festival, one of our team members had an accident and broke his arm. As a team, we believe that a misfortune to one is a misfortune to all, and thus we have had to abort our trip to the festival.
“Our colleague is currently undergoing surgery, and we wish him a speedy recovery. Although we had made all the necessary arrangements for accommodation and planned to have a good time at the festival, we will unfortunately miss out this year.
“We extend our gratitude to Charlee Nathan for his efforts and look forward to our participation in next year’s event,” Leo concluded.
However, Hon. Joseph Joshua who spoke to our reporter via telephone, highlighted the significance of the festival as a tool for promoting unity, attracting investors to the state, and reviving the cultural heritage by Governor Kefas’s led administration.
The Commissioner commended Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas for his vision of transforming the state and empowering the youth across Taraba state.
