Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State says his administration is constructing the 37km Pela-Maiha road linking the two local government areas of Hong and Maiha.
Awarded by the successive administrations in the state, the road was abandoned by the contractor who failed to execute the project according to contractual agreement.
To this end, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has to revoke the contract and reawarded it to another competent contractor for execution within the next six months to ease the sufferings of the communities and motorists.
At a campaign rally in Belel, Maiha Local Government Area to seek for reelection, Governor Fintiri told the residents that he has released N1.3b for the project last week.
Base on the requests of the community, Governor Fintiri has directed the Council Chairman to fence the maternity clinic in Sorou B and promised them construction of water earth dams and veterinary clinic.
“By God’s Grace, we will connect Belel to the national grid. I have already directed that electricity should be restored for Malabu and Farang communities,” said Governor Fintiri.
On the Jabbi Lamba-Belel road, Governor Fintiri said his efforts for federal government to construct the road proved abortive, asking the people to vote for Atiku Abubakar as next Nigeria’s President to make the project a reality.
“For many times, my administration has prevented Boko Haram from having a camp here and I will continue to maintain the momentum. I will continue to ensure security of lives and property across the state,” said Fintiri.
He asked the people of Belel, Sorou B and Konkol to re-elect him for continuity of good governance and vote for all PDP candidates from top to bottom in the forthcoming elections.
Speaking on behalf of the community, the Commissioner of Water Resources, Hassan Kaigama commended Governor Fintiri for the giant strides recorded by his administration.
