TSG Director-General Mourns Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi, Describes Him as a Rare Spiritual Icon

The Director-General of the Tinubu Support Group (TSG), Dr. Umar Tanko Yakasai, has led tributes to the late Islamic scholar, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, describing his passing as a monumental loss to Nigeria.

The Director-General of the Tinubu Support Group (TSG), Dr. Umar Tanko Yakasai, has led tributes to the late Islamic scholar, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, describing his passing as a monumental loss to Nigeria.

Yakasai said the revered cleric was “an enigma, an unequalled leader of thought, and a spiritual role model of immense grandeur.”

In a condolence message, Yakasai noted that the news of the Sheikh’s transition came as a shock, not because of his age, but because personalities of his calibre are rare. He praised the late scholar’s lifelong commitment to peace, humility, and service to humanity.

Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi, who died at about 90, was widely respected for his simplicity, generosity, and compassion. His followers recall him as a selfless leader who dedicated his life to helping the needy and the downtrodden. Many described him as someone who would give his last kobo to ease the burden of others.

Yakasai highlighted the cleric’s exemplary life, noting that his teachings and conduct consistently reflected his belief in peace and moral uprightness. “He lived a life worthy of emulation. With him around, peace was always the watchword,” he stated.

The TSG Director-General prayed for Allah’s mercy upon the late Sheikh, asking God to forgive his shortcomings and grant him Jannatul Firdaus. He also prayed for the family and thousands of the Sheikh’s followers to find the strength to bear the loss.

Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi is remembered as one of Nigeria’s foremost Islamic leaders, whose influence spanned generations and whose legacy of service continues to resonate across the country.
