It was reported that six members of the Women’s Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (WOWICAN) in Taraba state lost their lives in a car accident.
The accident occurred as they were returning from the Women’s Wing CAN Conference which took place in Gembu, Sardauna LGA of the state on May 18th, 2024.
In a statement signed by the Special Adviser to Governor Agbu Kefas on Media and Digital Communications, Governor Kefas expressed his deep sorrow over the incident, describing it as a black Sunday for the state.
He extended his condolences to the families of the victims and assured of providing the people with safer roads.
The statement revealed that the governor has directed local government chairmen to ensure proper maintenance of existing roads, including traffic controls, drainages, and basic repairs, to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
Governor Kefas also conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the CAN leadership, WOWICAN, and the entire Christian community in the state and the country at large.
However, the management of SAHEL REPORTERS extends its heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims, the Taraba State Government, CAN, and the entire Christian community and prayed for the souls of the demised.
It is worth noting that, WOWICAN is a non-partisan, non-biased, and non-discriminatory organization.
