The Benefit Gained In Being Among The Major Oil Producing Countries

Nigerian National Petroleum company NNPC has been warned on the issue of importing the whole petroleum that will serve the domestic need of Nigerians which unpatriotic importers of fuel product can misuse the that opportunity in importing adulterated petroleum into the country. However the Company (NNPC) Tend to turn deaf ear to the raised alarm.

The country is seems to start witnessing the consequences forecasts to the NNPC, as the country is currently facing fuel scarcity in almost all major cities across it.

As the adulterated petroleum has since penetrated all the 36 State of the federation including the Capitol territory the NNPC is left with no option but to start investigation on the culprits thereby causing the country a lot of loose while already the citizens are counting lost in there day to day businesses as a result of circulation of the adulterated product.

This act is is a clear demonstration that Nigeria lack credible monitoring and surveillance system to ensure adequate fuel quality which has resulted in the recent importation of the adulterated fuel.

This also indicated the urgent need in ensuring clean, credible monitoring and surveillance system in the country in order to ensure that the country is safe from reoccurrence in the near future, or even at all. And that is if only the country must import fuel for its domestic need after being among the major oil producing countries in globe.

The need for the federal Government to urgently put in place systems that would check the quality of petroleum products being imported into the country if necessary.

So also is so worrisome for a country that has a lot of abundant natural resources and among the major oil producing countries in the world to to hundred percent depend on importing fuel it’s domestic need, despite all the refineries in the country.

The guilty importers of fuel should be made to compensate all the motorist affected by the adulterated fuel beside suspending the companies that were allegedly responsible for bringing the adulterated fuel into the country after being investigated to serve as deterrent.
