The Taraba State Command of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN) has refuted the allegation of attacking and killing four suspected members of Hunters in Tella, in the Gassol LGA of the state.
In a statement issued to newsmen on Thursday 15th May 2025 by the VPRO of the VGN, Taraba State Command, ACV Suleiman Aliyu said their attention was drawn to a pulse publication on the Facebook page of one Yunusa Usman Ardo claiming that some members of the VGN have attacked a group of Hunters in Tella in Gassol LGA of the state and killed four of them.
The statement continues to say “We further state categorically that no member of VGN is involved in the Tella incident of 14th/05/25.
“We strongly assert here that this claim is not true. The VGN in Taraba State never indulges in killing or any act of violence against suspects.
“While extending our condolences to the families and friends of the four killed hunters, we passionately call for an investigation of the incident,” the statement emphasized.
The statement further recalled that some time back, a police officer attached to the strike force was killed in the same area and under similar circumstances.
The VGN in the state advises that anyone found to be involved in this lawless act be made to face the full wrath of the law.
