On Saturday 4th August 2024, the Executive Chairman of Sardauna Local Government Council, Hon. M.J. Umar, facilitated the distribution of fertilizers to grassroots communities through their ward councilors.
This was contained in a statement issued by Marvelous Heli, the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Chairman.
This initiative, which demonstrates a commitment to agricultural development and support for local farmers, was provided by the Secretary to the Government of Taraba State (SGS), Chief Barr. Gebon Timothy Kataps, and other stakeholders.
The Chairman expressed profound gratitude to the SGS, Chief Barr. G.T. Kataps, and the stakeholders for their invaluable contributions and support to the grassroots.
He said, their efforts are commendable and reflect a genuine commitment to the development and prosperity of the Mambilla Plateau in Boosting Agricultural productivity.
Furthermore, Hon. Umar made it clear that the fertilizers are to be distributed free of charge.
He issued a stern warning that any councilor found selling the fertilizers would be held accountable and face strict penalties.
This measure is to ensure that the support reaches those who need it the most and that the initiative benefits the entire community.
He stated that detailed records, including the contact information of all beneficiaries, should be taken, and video and photographic evidence should be collected to document the distribution.
This is to ensure that the fertilizers reach the intended recipients and are used for the intended purpose of boosting agricultural output in the Sardauna local government.
*The general public should note that a total of 50 bags of fertilizer (25 bags NPK, 25 bags Urea) have been allocated to each ward councilor, along with transportation fares to ensure the timely delivery of these resources to their respective wards*.
