Taraba Council Chairman Provides Free JAMB Registration For Indigenes

The Chairman of Jalingo Local Government area of Taraba State Dr. Aminu Jauro Hassan has declared free JAMB registration for indigenes of the local government.

Hassan who disclosed this in Jalingo on Thursday said that the program is aimed at complementing the efforts of Governor Agbu Kefas’ giant strides in reforming the education sector.

According to the ALGON chairman, Jalingo, as the metropolitan local government, has the responsibility of setting the pace for other local government areas to follow.

“In support of Governor Agbu Kefas’s education reforms and upliftment of Jalingo LGA educational standards, the Jalingo Local Government Chairman has announced the Free JAMB Registration Scheme for the Ten wards of Jalingo LGA

“To be eligible to benefit from this scheme, the prospective candidate must be an indigene of Jalingo LGA, must have the required 5 Credits, and submit a Profit code to the office of the Chairman Jalingo Local Government Area.

“This is a measure to further cushion the hardship our people are going through as a result of fuel subsidy removal and the fast deteriorating economy that has resulted in a drastic rise in the prices of goods and services.

“This decision was reached when we realized that many families could not register their children for the JAMB and as you know, this is requisite for them to get admission into any higher institution.

“So for them to benefit from the huge price slash in tuition fees that the State Governor has declared for our tertiary institutions, they need to get admission first and this is the first step,” Hassan said.

He called on parents to avail their children and wards of the opportunity.
