The North-East Zonal Vice President of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Comrade Ahmed Kagana Amshi, commended Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State for prioritizing the sports sector and youth empowerment.
He expressed this praise in a statement issued to sports journalists, highlighting that Taraba State is experiencing significant advancements in sports development, largely due to the strong support from Governor Kefas.
Amshi noted that Kefas’s administration has made substantial investments in training programs, new facilities, and support for local athletes.
He also emphasized that the commitment of Tarabans to sports development is truly commendable, and with continued dedication, he believes the potential for growth in this area is limitless.
Additionally, Amshi congratulated Former African Badminton Champion Ephraimu Jinkam for his impressive performance, urging him to maintain his efforts moving forward.
As sports promoters, SWAN encouraged Jinkam to build on his achievements and further solidify the gains made.
It is worth mentioning that Ephraimu Jinkam recently received ten million naira and a Hilux vehicle from Governor Agbu Kefas.
This gesture was intended to support Jinkam in scouting for young talents across the sixteen Local Government Areas of the state.
Moreover, the Taraba State Director of Sports and renowned national badminton coach, George Shitta, also received five million naira from the Governor.
Notably, Shitta was Jinkam’s coach during his development as an athlete.
