The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) has congratulated one of its veterans and immediate past National Deputy President, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq Moyoyo, on his successful civil service period and retirement as Director of News and Current Affairs, Taraba State Broadcasting Service (TSBS).

In a congratulatory letter dated November 28, 2024, through the Association’s Secretary-General, Amb. Ikenna Okonkwo, SWAN President Mr. Isaiah Benjamin described the years of service and impact of Alhaji Moyoyo in Taraba State and beyond as legendary.

The President of SWAN also reckoned that Alhaji Moyoyo has been and remained a mentor to many in various leadership roles in his immediate family, community, workplace, and sports writing fraternity.

“Our joy knows no bounds because you have lived an exemplary life for anyone who came in contact with you to follow all this while. Your journey in the Taraba State Civil Service has been remarkable and fulfilling, such that your colleagues (both junior and senior officials) testify to your impact.

“Indeed, you have left footprints of many positive results throughout your years of service in Taraba State and beyond.

“During your active service years, SWAN as a professional Association also felt and testified of your dexterity and commitment to serve God and humanity through the various positions you held.

“As you begin this new chapter in your life, we hope you take time to relax, recharge, and enjoy the fruits of your labor. You have earned it!” part of the letter reads.

While praying for a more fruitful lifetime after retirement at 60, the number one sports writer in Nigeria urged Alhaji Moyoyo to further avail his rich bowel of experience in Sports Journalism to SWAN leadership and other Media Practitioners.
