Over one thousand (1,000) bags of fertilizer have been distributed to rural farmers in Adamawa Southern Senatorial District as part of efforts to enhancing farming activities in the region.
Alkaf Global Investment Resources Limited in collaboration with Border Communities’ Development Agency (BCDA) with sponsorship by Senator (Rev) Binos Dauda Yaroe, saw the need to meet the plights of the hoe-masters in Adamawa South with the distribution of NPK and UREA fertilizer to enable the farmers do finishing touches on their respective farmlands and be equipped for the fast approaching dry season farming.
The project tagged, ‘LoT: (B311) BCDA 2025 Capital Project’, which took place at the Binos Skills Acquisition Centre in Mayo-Belwa Local Government Area (LGA) during the weekend, was seen as a lifeline for the rural farmers whose farms are yielding for the prospect of bumper harvest, but lacks fertilizer to aid the plants.
With the distribution of NPK and UREA fertilizer to the hoe-masters, it is expected that bumper harvest is in the making at the end of the cropping season; which the farmers testified themselves.
A special package of ten (10) bags of fertilizer would go to each of the five (5) first-class chiefs in the Adamawa Southern Senatorial District as a sign of recognition and appreciation to the royal fathers for their efforts in the promotion of peaceful coexistence in their respective domains.
Addressing the representatives of the 9 LGAs that constitute Adamawa Southern Senatorial District during the flag-off ceremony, Senator Binos D. Yaroe said that he is committed and determined to uplift the livelihoods of his constituents, as well as ensuring farmers have a sense of belonging in his programmes.
Represented by Mr Boniface Katawan, Senator Binos pointed out that his collaboration with Alkaf Global Investment Resources Limited is yielding positive results for the benefit of his constituents, where he recalled numerous empowerment programmes and distributions that he successfully carried out in partnership with Alkaf Global Investment Resources Limited.
While assuring the people of Adamawa South of his commitment to provide them with the needed dividends of democracy, Senator Binos thanked the Federal Government, Alkaf Global Investment Resources Limited and Border Communities’ Development Agency (BCDA) for the distribution.
On her part, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Alkaf Global Investment Resources Limited, Madam Bilkisu Ibrahim, disclosed that 1,100 bags of fertilizer have been distributed, with eight (8) of the LGAs getting 120 bags of fertilizer each while Mayo-Belwa LGA gets 140 bags of fertilizer, making the total of 1,100 in whole.
She commended Senator Binos Dauda Yaroe for his commitment and determination to putting smiles on the faces of his constituents, adding that she was impressed with the transparent manner with which the distribution was carried out.
While promising more collaboration with the People’s Senator, Alkaf CEO called on the people of Adamawa Southern Senatorial District to support Senator Binos to enable them reap more democracy dividends and good representation at the red chamber.
In his remarks, representative of Border Communities’ Development Agency (BCDA), Mr Stephen Daniel, hailed Senator Binos Dauda Yaroe for his selfless service to the people of Adamawa South, where he described Senator Binos as the best Senator in the red chamber.
Representatives of the 9 LGAs, who interacted with pressmen shortly after receiving 120 bags of fertilizer each for onward distribution to the intending beneficiaries, expressed gratitude to Senator Binos and his collaborators for the kind gesture.
Some of the LG representatives who spoke include; Dauda Wilson from Jada LGA, Elishama Thomas from Shelleng LGA and Abubakar Audu from Toungo LGA. They assured Senator Binos Dauda Yaroe, Federal Government, Alkaf Global Investment Resources Limited and Border Communities’ Development Agency of transparency in the distribution process.
It could be recalled that just last week, Senator Binos Dauda Yaroe distributed bags of rice and maize to his constituents across the 9 LGAs of Adamawa Southern Senatorial District. That followed a series of empowerment programmes and provision of free medical services that touched lives of the inhabitants of Adamawa Southern Senatorial District.
