Sen. Shehu Buba, representing Bauchi South Senatorial District in the National Assembly, has called for stronger collaboration between political leaders and traditional institutions to sustain peace, security, and development across Bauchi State.
He made the call during a courtesy visit to the palaces of newly appointed emirs in some of the recently created emirates over the weekend.
The sen. described traditional rulers as custodians of culture and critical partners in maintaining social order and community harmony.
According to him, the stability and unity being enjoyed in Bauchi State are products of the mutual understanding between government authorities and traditional leaders.
He urged continued partnership to deepen the culture of peace and accelerate grassroots development.
“We must live up to our collective expectations by working together to preserve peace, promote tranquility, and advance the development of our state,” Senator Buba said.
The Sen. commended the newly appointed emirs for their commitment to the welfare of their subjects and their efforts in promoting peaceful coexistence among diverse communities.
Among the traditional leaders visited were Alhaji Umar Adamu, the Emir and Lamido of Toro; Alhaji Ali Yakubu Lame, Emir of Lame; Alhaji Nura Adamu Jumba, Emir of Lere; Alhaji Sulaiman Bala Sulaiman, Emir of Jama’a; and Alhaji Jibrin D. Hassan, Emir of Bununu.
Sen. Buba further assured the royal fathers of his readiness to partner with them in implementing community-based projects that would enhance education, healthcare, and youth empowerment within the senatorial district.
In their separate remarks, the emirs expressed gratitude for the senator’s visit and pledged continued cooperation with political leaders to strengthen peace, security, and social development across Bauchi South.
They also reaffirmed their commitment to fostering unity and supporting government initiatives aimed at improving the lives of their people.
