Senator Binos Dauda Yaroe, representing Adamawa South, has pledged to address all clerical errors identified by the presidency in the bill seeking to establish the Federal University of Education, Numan.
He clarified that the bill was not rejected outright but returned by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for corrections to ensure compliance with constitutional requirements.
Speaking during a stakeholder feedback meeting in Mayo-Belwa Local Government Area, Senator Binos explained that the corrections would be promptly made and resubmitted once the Senate reconvenes.
“The president pointed out certain errors in the bill that needed to comply with the constitution. For instance, we mistakenly assigned the power to grant land authority to the governor instead of the president, who is the rightful visitor for the institution. We will rectify this error by replacing the governor with the president in the bill,” he stated.
The second-term senator used the meeting to highlight his achievements and gather feedback from constituents.
He noted that his contributions included personally funding the drilling of over 30 boreholes, facilitating free healthcare services, sponsoring bills for national development, supporting infrastructural projects, awarding scholarships, and empowering farmers.
In addition, Senator Binos emphasized his efforts to train youth in solar installation, improve power supply by procuring transformers, and create job opportunities for young people in the district.
“Essentially, when you elect a representative to the National Assembly, it is important to report back to the people about what you are doing, what you have achieved, and your future plans,” he said. “This meeting is to share my successes and take note of the observations, advice, and encouragement from my constituents.”
During the gathering, Adamawa State Commissioner of Entrepreneurship Hamanjumba Gatugel, retired permanent secretaries, and local leaders praised Senator Binos for his sincerity and developmental efforts.
They commended him for his support in areas such as free medical outreach, mobile clinics, farm implements, and computer distribution.
The leaders expressed their appreciation through advice, encouragement, and prayers for the senator, reaffirming their belief in his dedication to the southern senatorial district’s progress.
