A total of 1,917 patients from Borrong and neighboring communities in Demsa Local Government Area (LGA) have benefited from a free medical outreach organized by Senator Binos Dauda Yaroe, representing Adamawa Southern Senatorial District.
The initiative, conducted in collaboration with the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency (NPHCDA) and implemented by ALKAF Global Investment Resource Limited, took place on Saturday, March 8, 2025.

The Binos Mobile Hospital was stationed at the Primary Health Care (PHC) Borrong, while major surgeries were performed at General Hospital Borrong. According to Dr. Rephath Pius, Principal Medical Officer (PMO) of General Hospital Numan, 1,850 outpatients received treatment, and 67 surgeries were successfully conducted. These included 21 herniorrhaphies, 8 appendectomies, 3 cystectomies, and 3 myomectomies, among others.
Senator Binos, represented by his 2023 Campaign Director-General, Mr. Katawan Boniface, reaffirmed his commitment to improving the health and well-being of his constituents. “Providing free medical services remains a top priority, and I will continue to support initiatives that bring relief to my people,” he stated.
The Murum Mbula, HRM Bethley Biyapo, and the District Head of Borrong, Mr. Lusum Naina, expressed their appreciation, highlighting the outreach as a significant intervention for those who cannot afford medical treatment. “This initiative has been a lifesaver,” HRM Biyapo noted.
Healthcare officials also acknowledged the impact of the outreach. Mr. Sunday Stephen Naira of the Adamawa State Primary Health Care Development Agency emphasized its importance, stating, “Primary healthcare is essential, and this outreach has provided much-needed services to the underserved.”
Victoria Bilkisu Ibrahim of ALKAF Global Investment Resource Limited praised the overwhelming turnout, noting that past medical outreaches by Senator Binos in Shelleng and Toungo LGAs had similarly exceeded expectations.
A major highlight of the event was the case of a 32-year-old woman who received a free exploratory laparotomy for multiple fibroids, a twisted left adnexal mass, and a ruptured appendix—procedures that would have cost N500,000 in a private facility.
Another remarkable case involved a woman who had endured a giant myomectomy for over 20 years, along with 10 pediatric hernia repairs for children aged 2-10.
Beneficiaries shared their gratitude. Mrs. Ruth Simon, mother of a young girl who underwent surgery, described the outreach as a “dream come true,” revealing that they had previously been unable to afford the N130,000 hospital fee.
Another patient, Dan Fulani, commended the inclusivity of the outreach, noting that Senator Binos provided medical care without religious or ethnic bias.
Dr. Ishaya Micah Kunyima, PMO of General Hospital Borrong, hailed the outreach as the first of its kind under his watch, lauding the professionalism of the medical team.
The outreach team, led by Dr. Jama Medan, ensured that all services were rendered free of charge, with healthcare professionals sourced from across the country, including NYSC health workers.
Senator Binos’ free medical outreach continues to make a significant impact in Adamawa, offering life-saving treatments to thousands who would otherwise be unable to afford essential healthcare.
