The Senator Representing Adamawa Central Senatorial District, Aminu Iya Abbas (Iya Adamawa) has expressed deep sadness over the demise of a former Adamawa South District senator and former Majority Leader of the Senate, Jonathan Silas Zwingina, whose transition has been announced.
In a condolence message through his Yola Media Office, to the Adamawa State Government, the people of Adamawa South Senatorial District, and the Nungrala in Guyuk Local Government Area, the senator said he was saddened by news of the death of an illustrious son of Adamawa.
He described his demise as a great loss to the Nungurala people, Adamawa State and Nigeria as a whole.
The Senator who doubles as Chairman Senate Committee on Innovation, Science and Technology, prayed God to forgive the shortcomings of the late Sen. Zwingina and to grant his soul eternal rest.
“On behalf of my family, people of Adamawa central senatorial district i consoled with the family of late senator Jonathan Silas Zwingina” the statement reads
Aminu Abbas, equally urged members of the immediate and extended family, friends, political associates and the people of Adamawa to be consoled by the remarkable accomplishments of the late Senator who has passed on at just the age of 70.
Senator Jonathan Zwingina was a founding member of the Peoples Democratic Party who represented Adamawa Southern Senatorial District two terms (1999-2007) but later defected to the All Progressives Congress.
