The National Chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Shehu Musa Gabam, has urged Nigerians to reflect on the country’s challenges and recommit to the pursuit of harmony, stability, and justice.
In a statement titled “A Call to Reflect and Recommit: Praying for a Better Nigeria,” Gabam expressed concern over the erosion of democratic values under the current administration. He lamented that President Bola Ahmad Tinubu, once regarded as a champion of democracy, has failed to uphold the principles many expected his leadership to embody.
“Those of us who have tirelessly fought for democracy since our youth are now facing reprisals,” Gabam stated, emphasizing the need for the government to realign its priorities and focus on policies that drive progress and development—values central to the SDP’s philosophy.
As opposition leaders, Gabam reaffirmed the party’s commitment to speaking truth to power and advocating for a brighter future for all Nigerians. He called on citizens to unite in prayer during the Jumma’at service, seeking divine guidance for national progress and justice.
“Our commitment to justice and fairness remains unwavering. Together, let us strive for a more prosperous and equitable Nigeria,” he concluded.
