Save the Children Nigeria has officially handed over Teachers’ Kits to the Adamawa State Universal Basic Education Board (ADSUBEB) under the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) Accelerated Education Project. The initiative is designed to strengthen teaching and learning in host communities and areas affected by displacement.
The intervention, implemented across selected Local Government Areas in Adamawa State, namely Mubi North, Mubi South, Michika, and Madagali, is aimed at improving classroom delivery and enhancing access to quality basic education.
Leading the handover, Team Leader of Save the Children Nigeria, Helamada Dauda, reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to supporting quality education and strengthening teaching capacity in beneficiary communities. He expressed appreciation to ADSUBEB for its cooperation and partnership throughout the programme’s implementation.
As the project concludes, Save the Children Nigeria expressed gratitude to ADSUBEB for the strong working relationship and formally bid farewell following the successful completion of its intervention in the state. Items handed over include 1,119 packs of whiteboard markers, 51 branded whiteboards (6ft x 4ft) with stands, 51 branded whiteboards (6ft x 4ft) without stands, 280 whiteboard dusters, 103 packs of pens, 103 teachers’ rulers, 103 dozen teachers’ notebooks, and 466 school registers.
Responding, the Executive Chairman of ADSUBEB, Dr. Murtala Umar Babayi, commended Save the Children Nigeria and its partners for the timely intervention, describing the gesture as a significant contribution to strengthening basic education delivery in the state.
Dr. Babayi lauded the organisation for its impactful support to the education sector in Adamawa and wished the team success in future humanitarian and educational interventions. He assured that the materials would be properly distributed and effectively utilised for the benefit of teachers and pupils in the beneficiary LGAs, while reiterating the Board’s commitment to sustaining partnerships that promote quality education.
