Adamawa State Governor, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri Saturday flaged off humanitarian support programme of the Special Assistant Forum at the Specialist Hospital in Yola.
At the event, 100 patients were assisted with cash gifts.
The programme was kicked off in commemoration of the 5-year in office of Governor Ahmadu Fintiri.
Governor Fintiri represented for by the Secretary to the State Government, Barr. Auwal D. Tukur commended the forum for the charitable gesture.
The Governor urged stakeholders and other well meaning individuals to emulate the footsteps of his special assistants.
In his opening remarks, the Chairman of the Forum, Mr. Ijabani Ijahu said that it has become imperative for the forum to embark on this humanitarian acactivity due to the current economic hardship being faced in the country.
The Chairman said that the programme which will run quarterly is meant to assist the less privileged in the society.
Mr. Ijahu thanked the entire members of the forum as well as organizing committee who contributed to help the sick and needy, praying God to bless them.
The Medical Director of Specialist Hospital, Yola represented by Director Nurses, Mr. Grace Gadzama led the SSG and other members of the forum round the hospital wards.
Highlight of the event was presentation of award of excellence on the Wife of the Governor, Her Excellency, Hajiya Lami Ahmadu Fintiri.
