The Adamawa State Government, under the leadership of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has reaffirmed its commitment to people-centered governance with a powerful showcase of its first-quarter achievements for 2025.
This was revealed during a media parley on Saturday, convened by George Kushi, Principal Special Assistant on Media and Communications, who presented a stirring address on the administration’s progress.
Kushi praised the landmark strides made within the quarter, beginning with the strategic strengthening of traditional institutions through the creation and coronation of new Chiefdoms and Emirates.
This, he said, was a deliberate act to bridge ungoverned spaces, deepen communal peace, and preserve cultural heritage.
He said the state also marked a significant economic milestone with the flag-off of the Jimeta Ultra-Modern Shopping Complex—a transformative commercial hub expected to create thousands of jobs and redefine the trade ecosystem in Adamawa.
“The pace of this project is unprecedented, and we expect timely delivery,” Kushi noted.
“Adamawa’s digital revolution took center stage with the launch of the Digital Skills Training Programme for 100,000 citizens—hailed as one of the most ambitious tech initiatives in Nigeria.
“Additional programs targeting women and youths are ongoing, expanding digital inclusion across the state. Similarly, the 10,000 Youths for 2025 Skills Acquisition Programme, through PAWECA, was launched to promote entrepreneurship, innovation, and self-reliance,” he said.
Kushi also emphasized Adamawa’s forward-thinking investments in renewable energy with the training of 1,000 citizens annually in solar photovoltaic technology and a signed MoU with Liberal Energy for a 300-megawatt Solar PV Farm, the state is poised to become a green energy leader.
“A strategic partnership with the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) is expected to unlock billions in private investment and generate over 40,000 jobs.
“Infrastructure-wise, roads, bridges, hospitals, and urban renewal projects are reaching advanced stages, offering lasting testaments to Governor Fintiri’s development blueprint.
“The state has also begun its long-awaited Civil Service Recruitment Exercise, onboarding 4,000 individuals into the public sector,” he said.
Kushi noted that this initiative will bridge manpower gaps and restore vitality to public service delivery.
In the area of security, he said the state has worked closely with federal security agencies, traditional rulers, and community leaders to maintain peace and stability. Adamawa is now regarded as one of the most secure and stable states in the country.
Kushi also pointed to the governor’s national recognition as Chairman of the PDP National Convention, affirming his role as a respected political leader with pan-Nigerian appeal.
“This administration has shown that we don’t fear the future—we shape it boldly,” Kushi declared. “Together with the people of Adamawa, we are building not just infrastructure but hope, dreams, and a legacy of progress.”
He also commended members of the press for their patriotism and partnership in amplifying Adamawa’s success stories.
Also speaking at the parley, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Humwashi Wonosikou, urged media professionals and the public to focus on facts and responsible discourse, especially concerning succession matters in Fufore Local Government Area following the chairman’s passing.
He dismissed misleading narratives circulating online and emphasized the Governor’s reputation as a democrat and unifier.
“Peace and development are now touching all corners of Adamawa,” Wonosikou said. “We call on everyone to stay focused and patriotic as we continue building the state together.”
