A coalition of political pressure groups advocating for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in 2027 has commended the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, for his notable contributions to improving national security across the country.
Speaking during the coalition’s first annual general meeting held at the Federal Civil Service Office in Yola, the chairman of the coalition, Mr. Philip Samaniya, applauded President Tinubu for appointing Ribadu to the critical role, describing him as a capable and results-driven security strategist.
Samaniya noted that Ribadu has initiated visible improvements in tackling Nigeria’s complex security challenges and urged him to sustain the momentum.
He also thanked Ribadu for his continued support to the coalition, pledging that the group will stand firmly behind both Ribadu and the Tinubu-led administration to ensure more dividends of democracy reach the grassroots.
Addressing the purpose of the meeting, Mr. Samaniya explained that the session aimed to unite the state council and local government coordinators to review the group’s progress and discuss strategies for greater grassroots engagement.
He directed coordinators to return to their respective localities and begin forming ward-level leadership structures, stressing that the coalition is open to Nigerians from all political and religious backgrounds who support the Tinubu administration.
Mr. Samaniya singled out coordinators from Shelleng, Guyuk, Mubi North, and Mubi South Local Government Areas for special recognition, commending their unwavering dedication to the coalition’s mission and urging them to continue their work with zeal.
In his remarks, Dr. Pwadadi Bello, the coalition’s director of research, said the group was formed to transform political leadership in Nigeria, with a focus on empowering the youth to actively participate in governance and democratic processes.
Other speakers at the meeting echoed similar sentiments. Hadiza Sale Suleiman, the coalition’s woman leader; Mr. Ishaya Ganinan, the ALGON representative from Song; Mohammed Bello of the Muslim Council; and Pastor Zakariya representing the Christian community, all emphasized the coalition’s commitment to unity, peace, and public enlightenment.
They shared that various local government teams have been conducting community sensitization meetings to strengthen the coalition’s reach and impact.
