The race for Owo Local Government Council Chairman of Ondo State is heating up, and leading aspirant Amb. Obanoyen Abiola Sikiru, popularly known as AdidasDatiwa, is leaving no stone unturned in becoming the next local government chairman by touring all the wards that make up the local government.
As part of his campaign tour, AdidasDatiwa visited Iloro Ward 6, where he took the opportunity to share his manifesto with the enthusiastic Party Leaders, Stakeholders, and Members.
During his address, Amb. Abiola Obanoyen emphasized why he is the best candidate to fly the flag of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the upcoming Council Chairman contest, scheduled for January 18th, 2025.
His message resonated with the people, particularly Leaders of the Party at the local government and ward level who were impressed by his manifesto tagged “Back to Basic, restoring the promise of good governance, A vision for Owo local government.

Unfortunately, over time, ineffective governance and neglect have left local administrations in the hands of unprepared and under-resourced individuals, resulting in stagnation and unfulfilled promises.
However, there is renewed hope for progress. The recent Supreme Court ruling affirming the financial autonomy of Local Governments marks a pivotal moment in our history.
With this autonomy comes not just freedom but also a greater responsibility—a responsibility to deliver real and lasting change for our people.
Now is the time for Owo Local Government to seize this opportunity and once again make a meaningful impact in the lives of our citizens. It is time to return to the basics of good governance and community-driven development.
Together, we can build a stronger, more prosperous future for Owo.

• Strengthen Local Industries: Collaborate with state bodies to drive rural economic growth through local industries, agriculture, and small businesses.
• Vocational Training: Equip women and youth with essential vocational skills to foster self-reliance and entrepreneurship.
• Diaspora Engagement: Partner with the diaspora community to secure funding for vocational training and MSME financing, particularly in agriculture.
• Modern Farming Techniques: Collaborate with the state Ministry of Agriculture to introduce modern farming tools and techniques, boosting productivity and food security.
2. Infrastructure Development
• Road Maintenance: Prioritize the maintenance of rural roads to improve access to markets, schools, and healthcare facilities.
• Solar-Powered Lighting & Drainage: Install and maintain solar streetlights and proper drainage systems to enhance safety and community well-being.
• Public Facilities Upgrades: Modernize local markets, slaughterhouses, and motor parks to stimulate economic activity and safeguard public health.
3. Revenue Collection and Administration.
• Digitized Revenue Systems: Introduce POS machines to streamline revenue collection, ensuring transparency and reducing leakages.
