NUP Officials Visit Debt Mgmt Agency, Hail Gov Fintiri Over Pension Relief Efforts

The Director General of the Adamawa State Debt Management Agency, Prof. Ibrahim Danjuma, has welcomed executive members of the Nigerian Union of Pensioners (NUP), Adamawa State chapter, during a courtesy visit to the agency’s office in Yola.

During the visit, the NUP delegation commended the agency for its supportive role in addressing pension liabilities across the state.

They also extended heartfelt appreciation to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for his consistent approvals aimed at clearing both state and local government pension arrears.

The union particularly praised the governor’s recent approvals of N5 billion and N3 billion for state and local government pension liabilities respectively, a move they described as a significant relief for thousands of retired workers.

Prof. Danjuma, in his response, expressed gratitude for the visit and reiterated the agency’s commitment to collaborating with stakeholders in resolving pension-related issues.

He emphasized the agency’s full support for Governor Fintiri’s initiatives to improve the welfare of pensioners in the state.

He thanked the NUP officials for their recognition and pledged continued partnership in efforts to promote transparency, accountability, and financial stability in the management of pension obligations.
