The Executive Chairman of Numan Local Government Council, Hon. Innocent Koto, has extended warm congratulations to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri on reaching six years in office, describing his administration as transformative and people-centered.
He also felicitated with the Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, on her second anniversary in office, applauding her contributions to governance.
In a statement issued to newsmen in Yola to mark the Governor’s two-year milestone in his second term and six years in total, Hon. Koto commended Governor Fintiri for his all-encompassing development agenda across Adamawa State.
According to him, Thursday, May 29, is of great historical significance as it marks a new era of growth and progress under Governor Fintiri’s leadership. He highlighted key achievements in infrastructure, including urban renewal projects, road construction, establishment of model schools and cottage hospitals, agricultural enhancement, and youth empowerment programs.
Hon. Koto further acknowledged the Governor’s commitment to social welfare, citing the provision of free education, including payment of WAEC and NECO fees, implementation of the new national minimum wage for state and local government workers, and ongoing civil service recruitment.
He praised the Governor for leading the way in granting financial autonomy to local governments ahead of national implementation, enabling grassroots development and stronger governance presence at the community level.
The Numan council boss, who also serves as ALGON treasurer in the state, commended Governor Fintiri’s strides in maintaining peace and security across Adamawa. He pledged continued loyalty and replication of the Governor’s developmental efforts at the grassroots by local council leaders.
Hon. Koto expressed gratitude for the Governor’s inclusive governance, particularly his recognition of the Numan community through the selection of Professor Farauta as Deputy Governor and the appointment of other indigenes as commissioners and advisers.
He called on the people of Adamawa to continue supporting Governor Fintiri’s administration, assuring that the people of Numan would remain steadfast in their loyalty and support throughout his tenure and beyond.
