Nigerian Lawmakers Pay Condolence Visit To Army HQ Over Lagbaja’s Passing

Hon. Aliyu Boya Wakili, representing Fufore/Song Federal Constituency, Friday joined Chairman House Committee on Army, Hon. Aminu Balele, and committee members for a condolence visit to Nigeria Army Headquarters in Abuja.

Hon. Aliyu Boya Wakili, representing Fufore/Song Federal Constituency, Friday joined Chairman House Committee on Army, Hon. Aminu Balele, and committee members for a condolence visit to Nigeria Army Headquarters in Abuja.

They mourned the loss of Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, praising his dedication to Nigeria’s security.

The lawmakers described the late COAS as a great man who dedicated his life and wealth of experience to defending Nigeria’s security space.

They acknowledged his significant role in fighting insurgency and terrorism in Nigeria, noting that Gen. Lagbaja’s death is a great loss to the country and has created a vacuum.

Acting Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Olatubosun Oluyede, while thanking the lawmakers for the visit also lauded the late General Lagbaja’s selfless service, describing him as a passionate and dedicated officer who gave his all to Nigeria.

The lawmakers, on behalf of the National Assembly, expressed condolences to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Armed Forces of Nigeria, family, and friends of the late COAS. They prayed that God would grant them the fortitude to bear the loss.
