The chairman of the Adamawa State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN Rev. Dr. Joel Danjuma Manzo, has urged Christians and the entire citizens of the state to evaluate Nigeria’s progress since attaining independence in 1960 even as the nation celebrates its 65th independence.

According to the Rev. Manzo, as citizens of Nigeria, it is essential to critically consider different perspectives that will enable them to explore new ideas and positively nourish their minds. “Encouraging intellectual stimulation to foster genuine unity of purpose, mutual respect, and peaceful coexistence.”

He reflected on the promises made by the leaders in positions of authority and urged them to look back on whether they achieved the purposes intended or not. According to him this became necessary to ensure the country learn from past experiences, and the lessons learned from them.

“I urged us to engage in constructive dialogue, consider diverse perspectives, and work towards a brighter future for our state and the entire nation”.

He encouraged the church in the state to strive to build and establish a voice for a brighter tomorrow. “As free people, let’s reflect on how we can use our freedom to serve others and glorify God rather than indulging in wrongdoing (1 Peter 2:13-16)”.

He called on the body of Christ in the state to pray for leaders and asked God for guidance to be responsible stewards and the enablement to contribute positively to the nation’s growth and development.

He reiterated the importance of obtaining a voter’s card, pointing out that it has the power to shape the leadership and impact communities positively.

The State CAN Chairman commended Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, for providing good leadership and setting up a good record that has placed the state on the map, assuring him all the necessary support of the state CAN to enable him succeed.
