The Ngurore community has expressed deep appreciation to the North East Development Commission (NEDC), Adamawa State Office, for implementing life-changing projects in the area.

Led by the District Head of Ngurore, Alhaji Abubakar Lawan, a delegation of traditional and community leaders visited the NEDC State Coordinator, Barr. Khalifa M. Lawan, in Yola on Thursday to present him with an Award of Excellence for what they described as the Commission’s “giant strides” in community development.

While presenting the award, Alhaji Lawan said the visit was to convey the community’s heartfelt gratitude for the numerous interventions of the Commission, which have significantly improved the lives of the people.

“The people of Ngurore are direct beneficiaries of your good work, and we are here to say thank you,” he said. “These projects have touched critical areas of need, and we see the NEDC as a true partner in progress.”

Responding, Barr. Lawan thanked the delegation for the recognition, describing the award as both humbling and motivating. He reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to sustaining its development initiatives across Adamawa State.

“This award will spur us to work even harder to deliver more impactful projects to the people of Adamawa,” Lawan stated.

He also urged community members to take ownership of completed projects and ensure their proper use and maintenance.

“The NEDC builds these projects for you, the community. They belong to you. Protect them and make sure they serve their purpose for generations to come,” he advised.

The visit ended with an exchange of pleasantries, symbolizing a renewed partnership between the NEDC and the Ngurore community for continued grassroots development.
