The Bill to provide Pad Banks in both Public and Private Schools has pass into law by the Bauchi state assembly.
The Bill was aimed at providing free sanitary pads to girls pursuing Primary and Secondary Schools across the State
It will also help the girls in ensuring personal cleanliness as well as preventing them from falling victims of contagious diseases.

Spokesperson of the Speaker, Bauchi State House of Assembly indicate that the state assembly under the leadership of the Abubakar Y Suleiman describe it as impact to humanity by passing the Bill into law
The development partners flooded in high numbers to witness the memorable event as Bauchi Assembly served as the first in Nigeria that approved such Bill into Law. Members of the House have traveled to many places, undergone seminars, provided valuable ideas and recommendations that led to breakthrough.
The statement added that Mrs Elizabeth George who spoke on behalf of the Non- governmental organizations NGOs thanked Members of the assembly for their unquantifiable sacrifices.
She noted that despite being on recess and Ramadan fasting is ongoing, but they left their comfort zones to ensure that the Bill is actualized, thereby emphasizing that words could not describe how grateful everyone one of them was, but Almighty God would keep blessing them abundantly.
She hoped that doors of the Assembly would continue to be opened for more laws while urging Members to maintain the good spirit.
In his response, the Speaker of the Bauchi state assembly Abubakar Y. Suleiman. commended them for taking their time, enduring the legislative processes and abiding to the enshrined laws of the House during the plenary.
“Bauchi Assembly is a pace setter because out of the 31 Members, 25 were physically present; it showed that the Assembly is composed of proven Members that prioritised the welfare and development of people”. The statement added.
The Speaker appreciated them for the commendations and concern that served as morale booster to the Members.
