NGO Distributes Sewing Machines To 80 Trained Beneficiaries In Adamawa, Taraba

On April 16, 2024, 80 participants(girls) including PLWD were trained and empowered with sewing machines across the four (4) targeted LGAs – Mubi North, Mubi South, Jalingo and Gassol.

It recorded progressive in skill development by providing beneficiaries with sewing machines, they had learnt valuable sewing skills and have started their own business and become entrepreneurs, creating job opportunities for themselves and others in their communities.

The training which was facilitated by Hopeful Women Initiative (HWI) with its collaborators aims to “increase economic independence of the women as they have started the businesses, generating income and becoming more financially independent.

“It has improved women’s livelihoods. Providing beneficiaries with sewing machines has improved their quality of life by making a sustainable income to support their families and contribute to the overall economic development of their communities.

“Its enhanced sustainability. With access to sewing machines, beneficiaries are producing their clothing and materials, reducing their dependence on outside suppliers. This has created a sustainable and self-reliant business model.”
