In a bid to foster deeper collaboration and reinforce security architecture in Adamawa State, the newly appointed Coordinator of the North East Development Commission (NEDC), Barrister Khalifa M. Lawan, has commenced a strategic engagement tour with key stakeholders in the state capital, Yola.
On Wednesday, Barr. Lawan paid courtesy visits to the Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo F. Morris; Commander of the 153 Base Service Group, Group Captain M.M. Muazu; and the Airport Manager of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Fatima Betara Aliyu.
These visits form part of his familiarization efforts and are aimed at strengthening partnerships between the NEDC and critical security and aviation agencies to enhance regional stability and accelerate development initiatives.
The stakeholders commended Barr. Lawan on his new role and acknowledged the NEDC’s consistent efforts in driving development in Adamawa. CP Morris described the Commission’s interventions as crucial in supporting security operations and reiterated the Police Command’s commitment to creating a safe environment for growth.
Group Captain Muazu highlighted the pivotal role of peace in development and pledged the continuous cooperation of the Nigerian Air Force base in the region. FAAN’s Airport Manager, Fatima Betara Aliyu, stressed the importance of safeguarding aviation facilities, noting their significance in economic development.
In his response, Barr. Lawan expressed gratitude for the warm reception and reaffirmed the Commission’s dedication to collaborative efforts that promote peace, security, and sustainable development across Adamawa State.
