The new Marafa Adamawa, Hon. Ibrahim Yahyaji Mijinyawa, the State Commissioner Local Government Affairs, led a high-powered delegation this Monday evening on a thank-you visit to His Royal Highness, the Lamido of Adamawa, Dr. Muhammadu Barkindo Aliyu Mustafa, at his palace in Yola.
The entourage included his colleagues, commissioners, clerics, and community leaders from Jimeta, Yola North Local Government Area.
The visit was a gesture of gratitude for the Emirate Council’s recognition and to reaffirm loyalty and commitment to the traditional institution.
Recently, Hon. Mijinyawa was conferred with the prestigious title of Marafa Adamawa by the Adamawa Emirate Council. In a letter dated March 7, 2025, and signed by the Acting Secretary of the Emirate Council, Kabiru Bakari Tariya Adamawa, the council conveyed the approval and directed Hon. Mijinyawa to notify them whenever he is ready for the turbaning ceremony.
The conferment of Marafa Adamawa further cements Hon. Mijinyawa’s role in the emirate, highlighting his contributions to the community and strengthening ties between the leadership and the people.
