Neighborhood Watch Pledges Support To Security Agencies, Decorates About 100 Personnel In Bauchi

The Nigerian Neighborhood Watch has pledged to intensify collaboration with other security agencies in tackling crime and safeguarding public and government assets.

The National Commander of the organization, Sama’ila Shuaibu, made this known on Saturday in Bauchi during the decoration of about 100 personnel who were promoted to various ranks.

Sama’ila Shuaibu described peace as the foundation of societal development, calling on relevant authorities and members of the public to work together in protecting lives and property.

He urged Neighborhood Watch personnel to operate within the confines of the law, strictly adhering to constitutional provisions without engaging in activities that could contravene national laws.

The National Commander further challenged officers to contribute meaningfully to community progress and wellbeing by supporting communal development initiatives.

Also speaking at the event, the State Commander of the Nigerian Neighborhood Watch, Comrade Aliyu Bature Ahmed, emphasized that the organization was established in response to rising crime rates and to support both citizens and formal law enforcement agencies.

He encouraged officers to remain proactive and involved in community security through active participation in Neighborhood Watch groups.

On his part, the State Commander of the Vigilante Group, Danladi Gamji, called for unity and professionalism among local security outfits, urging them to share timely information with security agencies for prompt action.

Similarly, the Admin Officer for Community Policing in the Bauchi State Police Command, Inspector Yusuf Bawai, advised local security outfits to maintain coordination and respect constituted authorities to ensure lasting peace in the state.
