The National Council of Women Societies (NCWS) paid a courtesy visit today to the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Abuja, Professor Aisha Sani Maikudi, to congratulate her on her appointment and pledge their support for her administration.
Leading the delegation, Princess Edna Azura praised Professor Maikudi’s leadership potential and expressed confidence in her ability to transform the institution.
“As a young professor, we believe your tenure will usher in progress and transformation for the University of Abuja and the nation at large. We are here not just as representatives of women’s organizations but as partners in the advancement of education, particularly for women and girls,” Azura stated.
In response, Professor Maikudi expressed her gratitude for the council’s visit and emphasized her readiness for collaboration.
“I appreciate your support and openness to collaboration. Our priority is to create a comfortable and supportive environment where all students—both male and female—can thrive and build lasting memories,” she said.
Professor Maikudi further stressed the importance of inclusive education.
“We must ensure that more women, especially adult women, have access to education. Education is not a privilege; it is a right, and everyone should have access to it,” she emphasized.
