The Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria LCCN has expressed concerns over socioeconomic challenges, including food insecurity and economic hardship that has made life unbearable to a larger percentage of Nigeria’s citizens.
This was part of the issues raised to better humanity and human life during the 2025 National Pastor’s Conference of the denomination held at the Church’s headquarters in Numan , Adamawa state Northeast Nigeria
Archbishop of the Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria LCCN Most Rev Musa Panti Filibus PhD who availed the media the resolutions said Nigerians have no reason to suffer economic hardship the way they do after all the abundance in the Country and went further to remind the Federal government of its responsibility to make life better for its citizens
The Pastors particularly stressed the need for urgency by the Federal government to support local farmers with subsidies and security to enhance food production
They also posited their commitment to advocating against gender-based violence and providing pastoral counseling to address societal issues
On the need to forge ahead as a Church in these trying moments, the Pastors’ conference resolved to continue to live as ambassadors of Christ and to continue to preach the gospel of salvation and of peace to all
The Conference insists that Pastors must be seen to be catalysts and advocates for unity and peaceful coexistence in the body of Christ with no bias to denominational differences
The Lutheran Pastors’ conference re-affirmed the centrality of prayer in pastoral ministry, grounded in biblical teachings, and called for renewed emphasis on discipleship to address pride, selfishness and immorality among Pastors
The resolutions concluded with a call on all LCCN Members to remain steadfast in proclaiming the gospel, fostering unity, and serving as living sacrifices for God’s glory.
