Kwararafa Galaxy Club, TY Danjuma Foundation Organises Workshop For Head Teachers, Others In Donga LGA

The Executive Chairman of Donga Local Government Council of Taraba State, Hon. Ezra Voka has described education as the bedrock of every society.

The chairman, represented by the Education Secretary Jibrin Ibrahim, made this remark during a three-day workshop held at Donga Local Government Area. 

The workshop was organised by the Kwararafa Galaxy Club in collaboration with the TY Danjuma Foundation for Head Teachers, Mathematics teachers and teachers handling other science-related subjects.

Hon. Voka called on the participants to make good use of the knowledge gained from the workshop by impacting the student’s knowledge.

Speaking at the event, the State Coordinator of the TY Danjuma Foundation, Emmanuel Ishaku emphasized that teaching is a noble profession.

He noted that under its education initiative, the foundation is committed to improving the quality of teaching and teachers, ensuring they develop the necessary skills to deliver lessons effectively.

Also addressing the participants, the Coordinator of the Kwararafa Galaxy Club and a lecturer at Federal University Wukari, Professor Zaku Sabo emphasized that education is an investment, and teachers play a vital role in ensuring quality learning.

He noted that no educational system can rise above the quality of its teachers.

To enhance the teaching of science and mathematics in primary schools, he stressed the importance of regularly updating teachers’ skills and knowledge through training, seminars, and workshops.

A participant, Musa Yahura of Model Primary School, Donga, who teaches science subjects, expressed gratitude to the organizers for providing an impactful workshop that effectively addressed fundamental concepts.

Similarly, a mathematics teacher, Mrs Nkasire Jonathan described the workshop as a much-needed refresher course, emphasizing that if the knowledge gained is properly implemented, it will help revitalize the education system.
