JYZ Supplementary Poll: Environment Commissioner, Hon. Barde Congratulates Tafida

The recently concluded bye-election for the Jalingo, Yorro, and Zing Federal Constituency in Taraba State, held on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, has been hailed as a significant milestone in the state’s democratic development. 

Hon. Aishat Barde, the Commissioner for Environment and Climate Change, has congratulated the PDP and its candidate, Hon. Sadiq Abbas Tafida, on the victory.

In her congratulatory message, Hon. Barde emphasized that the PDP as a political party, and Governor Agbu Kefas’ administration, had demonstrated their popularity and acceptance among the masses.

Hon. Barde expressed her confidence that the newly elected House of Representatives member, Hon. Tafida, would surpass expectations in delivering on his mandate. 

She commended all stakeholders who contributed to the success of the PDP in a peaceful and orderly manner, including the people of Jalingo, Yorro, and Zing Federal Constituency, as well as the entire state.

Hon. Barde reiterated her commitment to the realization of Governor Agbu Kefas’ Moving Forward Agenda and stated that she is actively engaging with both the government and private sectors, including the Federal Ministry of Environment, to form partnerships on environmental matters among other plans.

It is noteworthy that Hon. Barde recently paid a courtesy visit to the Minister of Environment, Alhaji Balarabe Abbas Lawal, where she emphasized the need for collaboration between the two ministries in areas such as capacity building, data sharing, and research, policy alignment, networking, as well as project implementation.
